After growing up in London followed by a stint in Melbourne, both happening, buzzy cities, I was astounded when I moved to Siem Reap in 2015 by the number of eclectic dining experiences, watering holes and art spaces to visit. Taste Siem Reap was born with the idea of allowing visitors to Siem Reap to experience as much as possible (of the good stuff) in one evening. Why limit yourself to one restaurant or one bar when you can visit a few different places all with a dedicated tuk tuk driver for the evening.
Favourite space: I love the setting of Mie Cafe. It’s a traditional wooden house that’s been beautifully restored with views onto Chef Pola’s herb garden. Located on the outskirts of town it’s a real hidden gem that you would never find by chance.
Favourite place: It's got to be the The Village Cafe. Run by DJ Strangefruit (aka Stewart Kidd from Glasgow), The Village Cafe is the ultimate party venue. It's one of those places that's very hard to leave, especially after you've had one of their famous Espresso Martinis!
Favourite taste: Chef Mengly of Pou Restaurant is a magician in the kitchen. His grilled mackerel with turmeric rice wasabi mayonnaise and beetroot mayonnaise looks stunning and tastes delicious. I find it hard to order anything else every time I go to Pou's.
