Our night with Taste Siem Reap was a highlight of our SE Asian adventure! Our wonderful driver Bunthy picked us up at our hotel in his Tuk Tuk (A fun way to get around the city!) and we started our adventure at ASANA, a beautiful little Khmer cocktail bar in the pub street area of Siem Reap. We sipped exotic cocktails up on a sort of tree house in the Bar. It was fantastic! Next, we were zipped away to MAHOB to enjoy delicious appetizers. This place is a garden oasis and simply beautiful. We dined on Satay and the BEST Ceviche we have ever had! (we actually went back to dinner at MAHOB the next night to get more Ceviche!) Next, we were whisked away, and I can’t over state how fun it is to be driven around to each place in the Tuk Tuk while admiring the very lively and bustling city of Siem Reap. (Our night out was on a Saturday, so I am guessing the streets were even livelier than usual). It was simply stunning: the city sparkles with lights and people out and about! Our main course was at the beautiful Sugar Plum where we enjoyed a delicious meal of ginger chicken and Amok. The chef at this restaurant is known to make the best amok in the county….and based on what we had I can see why! Finally, we were driven to a beautiful very sophisticated place called MALIS where we had a scrumptious dessert and after dinner cocktails. At the end, Bunthy drove us around the city before returning us to our hotel. We were in Siem Reap because of Angkor Wat. Honestly, we had no expectations of the city itself. With our fabulous night out with Taste Siem Reap we REALLY got to see the city and realized what a wonderful place Siem Reap is: Very Lively, very colorful….but the BEST thing is the PEOPLE! Warm, friendly, inviting, and helpful! We had a BLAST! I really think this business in ingenious! Dining at different establishments while being whisked around in a Tuk Tuk! DO NOT MISS THIS EXPERIENCE!
